Mahi Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc (2024)

Mahi Wines is a benchmark Marlborough producer led by Brian Bicknell. Their Sauvignon Blanc is famous for its textural complexity and savory notes rather than overt acidity.

The classic Mahi Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is hand-picked and uses a blend of free-run juice, native ferments, and a small amount of barrel-fermented Sémillon to add weight and creaminess. It often highlights tropical fruit, passionfruit, and a crisp, mineral edge.

Plush, textural sauvignon with the focus on balanced mouthfeel rather than the typically more vibrant and overtly acidic Marlborough model. Lots of tropical fruits still shine on the palate and the careful use of seasoned oak on a small percentage of the blend adds weight and complexity without denying those fresh Marlborough fruits. The final blend also includes 2.45% semillon, adding length and an elegant touch.
